How to Create a Custom Bachelorette Buy the Bride a Drink QR Code

What you’ll need to Create a Buy the Bride a Drink Qr Code:
- A Free Canva account – sign up for free at Canva.com
- An existing personal bank or online payment account that comes with a payment link, such as Venmo, Paypal (Paypal.me) or Revolut. There are also other banks and online services that offer this, check with your own provider.
- A laptop or computer (using Canva on a mobile device is possible but not recommended when editing designs as it is very fiddly on a small screen.)
- It’s also helpful if you identify or nominate who in the bachelorette party is the owner of the account to be used, whether this is a bridesmaid, maid of honor or the bride herself, so any funds deposited can be kept track of.
Before we dive into how to create your Buy the Bride a drink QR code, let’s briefly look at how to find your payment link on Venmo, Paypal and Revolut:
How to Find Your Payment Link in Venmo:
1. Open the Venmo website or app on your phone and log in.
2. Go to the Me tab. Your username will be displayed near the top of the screen.
3. Your payment link will be Venmo.com/username, for example if your username is @ginandgemini, your payment link will be Venmo.com/ginandgemini.
4. Test your link works by clicking on it on a device that is not logged into your account to check it goes to the right place. Make a note of your payment link for the next step.
Optional: If you want to use your pre generated Venmo QR code, download the QR code by taking a screenshot and skip to Option 2 below.
How to Find or Create Your Payment Link in Paypal (Paypal.me):
Firstly, even if you already have a Paypal account, you may need to set up your Paypal.me link if you don’t already have one. Do this here.
To find your existing link:
1. Launch the Paypal app on your device and sign in.
2. Click “Payments” on the bottom menu.
3. Select “Request” from the options at the top.
4. Scroll down and select Share Your Link.
5. Here, you’ll find your personalized payment link pop up.
6. Copy the link for further use.
How to Find Your Payment Link in Revolut:
1. Open the Revolut app and log in.
2. Tap on your username circle in the top left to bring up your user profile.
3. Your username will be displayed on your profile, for example, @melissashaw.
4. Tap on the username. Your payment link as well as a QR code will be displayed, e.g. revolut.me/melissashaw
5. Copy the link to proceed.
Optional: If you prefer to use your pre generated QR code, screenshot your code and skip to Option 2 below.
Option 1: How to Turn Your Payment Link into a QR Code Using Canva
Now you’ve got your link, we’re ready to turn it into a QR code. Follow the steps below or watch our video demonstration: How to generate a QR code in Canva
1. Log into your Canva account and open your Buy the Bride a drink template – if you have bought one from our range, you will have instructions on how to do this in your purchase. Alternatively, if you are making your own design, click on the Create a design button.
2. Click on the Canva Apps logo on the left hand side of the screen. In the apps menu, search for QR code. Select the “QR code” app. Please note, there are an increasing number of third party apps being added to Canva all the time, so you may see a wide variety of QR code options, some of which may only be available with a Canva Pro account. These instructions are for the free Canva QR code app (see the video above for details).
3. In the QR Code app, paste your payment link that you got from your online account. Click “Generate QR Code” and your QR code will be added to your design! From here you can move or resize it into the optimal position.
4. If desired, you can customize the design by changing colors, adding graphics, or adjusting sizes.
5. Once satisfied with your design, test the QR code works by scanning it with another device such as a mobile phone. (This should work even on screen). It’s also best to test with a device that isn’t logged in to the payment destination, so if possible get one of your fellow bachelorettes to scan the code just to check everything is working as expected, and payments are able to be accepted. It’s much better to test this now before uploading to Insta or printing onto cards and then discovering there is a problem with your QR code!
6. Once you’re happy with the design and satisfied your QR code works, click on the “share” button at the top right of the screen in Canva to download your design.
If you are sharing the design digitally, e.g. to social media or a message group: select png (still image) or mp4 (video) if you have animated elements.
If you are printing the design onto cards or stickers, select PDF Print.
Your custom Buy the Bride A Drink template is now ready for use!
Option 2: How to upload an existing QR code into Canva
If you want to use an existing QR code from Venmo, Revolut or another platform, you should have already saved the QR code to your device in the previous step. Follow the steps below or watch our video demonstration below: How to upload an existing QR code into Canva
- Log into your Canva account and open your Buy the Bride a drink template – if you have bought one from our range, you will have instructions on how to do this in your purchase. Alternatively, you can DIY this by making your own. If so, click on the Create a design button.
- Click “Upload” on the left hand side. This will open the documents or downloads folder on your computer. Locate your QR code and click or drag to upload it.
- You can now drag your QR code into the desired position on your Canva design, and resize if needed.
- If desired, you can customize the design by changing colors, adding graphics, or adjusting sizes.
- Test the QR code works by scanning it with another device such as a mobile phone. (This should work even on screen). Sticker Template for Avery Round Sticker Templates 22562, 22830
If you have purchased or are interested in purchasing a round sticker template compatible with Avery Stickers, follow the instructions below.
Included in your purchase are 2 files: one is a pdf link to Canva, and a PNG image file. There are two options for customizing your design and adding in your QR code and other details. Choose the method you prefer:
Option 1: Edit in Canva
If you wish to edit your sticker design in Canva, open the pdf provided in your purchase that links to the Canva design and add your QR code and other details using the steps outlined in the previous sections of this post.
Remember: You only need to create one sticker design even though multiple will be printed.
Once you are happy with your design, download it as a PNG file.
Go to Avery Design & Print Online, select “Start Your Design” and select your template number from the options.
The template is optimised for Print to Edge 2 1/2 inch stickers (9 to a page) such as Avery 22562 (matt finish) and Avery 22830 (glossy finish).
Can I print on smaller stickers such as Avery 22831 (12 to a page)?
It is possible that some elements of the design may be cut off on smaller stickers, but it is easy to check this before printing by selecting a different template and previewing what the design will look like.
Once you have selected your template number, upload your saved PNG from Canva. Check everything looks good before selecting Preview and Print.
You can then download a pdf version of your sticker templates to print at home onto the corresponding sticker sheet. Now skip below to the section “How to Print Your Sticker Design” for a final video guide.
Option 2: Add Your QR Code and Details in Avery Design and Print Online
If you prefer, you can create a QR code and add your bachelorette details in the Avery software instead of Canva.
Go to Avery Design & Print Online, select “Start Your Design” and select your template number from the options.
The template is optimised for Print to Edge 2 1/2 inch stickers (9 to a page) such as Avery 22562 (matt finish)and Avery 22830 (glossy finish).
Once you have selected your template number, upload the PNG that came with your purchase.

Whichever option you chose, once you have finalized your design, check everything looks good before selecting Preview and Print in the Avery Design Software.
