St. Patrick’s Day Games & Challenges
Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt
Create a scavenger hunt with clues leading to a “pot of gold” filled with chocolate coins or small toys. Our done-for-you Instant Download Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt takes the hard work out of this for you!
8 clues are included describing common household hiding places such as picture frame, window sill, mirror, as well as full instructions and riddle solutions. The last clue is worded to lead to the final prize, or the leprechaun trap and a prize to follow.
A blank template is also included if you would like to write your own clues or amend any locations.
Pin the Hat on the Leprechaun
A fun twist on the classic party game! Blindfolded players try to pin a hat onto a leprechaun poster.
Lucky Coin Toss
Set up cups or small pots labeled with different point values and let kids toss plastic gold coins to score points.
Make a Leprechaun Trap
One fun St Patrick’s Day Tradition is to make a leprechaun trap and set it out the night before in order to try and catch a leprechaun! Purchase a done-for-you Leprechaun trap like this or create one using these instructions:

Materials Needed:
- A small box or shoebox
- Green construction paper
- Pipe cleaners, glitter, stickers, and markers for decoration
- A gold coin or small treat as bait
- Popsicle sticks or a small stick for the trap mechanism
Instructions:
- Cover the box with green construction paper and decorate it with stickers, glitter, or drawings.
- Cut a small door or flap on one side of the box.
- Use a popsicle stick or small stick to prop open the door.
- Place a gold coin or small treat inside as bait.
- When the leprechaun enters, the stick will fall, trapping him inside!
- The next morning, check the trap to see if you’ve caught any leprechaun mischief!
Traditionally, the Leprechaun will leave a letter saying that although you failed to trap him, he has left you a little treat. Use our tiny letter from Leprechaun template, or create your own!
