We Listen and We Don’t Judge: The Viral Bachelorette Game That Will Have Everyone Confessing Everything!

The responses start calm. They do not stay calm.

If you want one game that breaks the ice, gets the quiet ones talking, turns the loud ones into absolute chaos, and gives you a story to tell for the next ten years โ€” this is it. “We Listen and We Don’t Judge” has gone properly viral for a reason, and that reason is simple: it works on every single group, every single time.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve all known each other since secondary school or if half the group is meeting for the first time this weekend. It doesn’t matter if your bride is an over-sharer or someone who usually keeps it buttoned up. It doesn’t matter if you’re on night one or night three. This game has one job โ€” to get real, funny, occasionally unhinged confessions out of everyone in the room โ€” and it delivers every single time.

Here’s everything you need to play it properly.

What Is “We Listen and We Don’t Judge”?

The format is beautifully simple, which is exactly why it works so well.

Using our pre made Canva slides template, each player takes a turn selecting a category and a question.

Some of these questions are guaranteed to make you squirm, which is why after each one, the whole group responds together:

“We listenโ€ฆ and we don’t judge.”

If you refuse to answer, you need to take a sip of your drink. If you answer, in theory, no one reacts. In practice, there will be gasps, screaming, someone covering their face, and at least one person saying “I KNEW IT!” That’s the game working exactly as intended – but if they do react, they need to take a sip of their drink!

No phone buzzers. No timer. No complicated scoring system unless you want one. Just a circle of people, a few drinks, and confessions that will be referenced for the rest of the friendship.

Why It’s Perfect for a Bachelorette Party

Most party games have a gap between “sounds fun on paper” and “actually fun on the night.” This one doesn’t. Here’s why it lands every time:

It involves everyone equally. There’s no team that dominates, no one who gets eliminated early, and no quiet person who can sit in the corner and scroll their phone. Everyone takes a turn. Everyone confesses. Everyone gets a moment.

It scales to your group. You can play it completely clean โ€” funny stories, embarrassing moments, guilty pleasures โ€” or you can let it get properly spicy depending on who you’ve got in the room. You read the energy and pitch accordingly.

It creates the best memories. The stories that come out of this game are the ones that end up in the speeches, the wedding slideshow, and the group chat for years. You can’t engineer that kind of spontaneous honesty โ€” but this game absolutely can.

It works at every stage of the night. Slow burner for pre-drinks, main event over dinner, or chaotic late-night energy when everyone’s had a few. It adapts.

How to Play

  1. Sit together as a group โ€” circle or semicircle works best so everyone can see each other’s faces (the expressions are half the entertainment)
  2. Pick your first category, then select a question or go completely freestyle if you’d rather. you could also have guests choose questions for each other or use an online random number generator to select the category and question numbers!
  3. Take turns sharing confessions in the format above
  4. Add scoring if you want some competitive energy โ€” more on that below
  5. Keep going through categories until you’ve run out of confessions or the night takes over

There’s no strict order rule โ€” you can go clockwise, let whoever wants to go next jump in, or draw names if you want a bit of chaos. The freestyle approach often works better once the group has warmed up.

The Best Categories to Play

Our ready made We Listen and We Don’t Judge Canva templates come with 5 done-for-you categories each with 10 done-for-you questions, but personalizing them for your group can be half the fun!

Here’s some category ideas:

  • ๐Ÿ’ Bride Confessions โ€” everything you’ve thought but never said about the bride, to her face, in a safe space
  • ๐Ÿธ Nights Out Chaos โ€” the stories you’ve been too embarrassed to tell until now
  • ๐Ÿ’” Dating and Exes โ€” red flags, bad decisions, and moments you wish you could redo
  • ๐Ÿ‘€ Secret Habits โ€” the things you do when absolutely no one is watching
  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ Social Media Sins โ€” we all have them and this is finally the place to admit them
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Things You’ve Never Said Out Loud โ€” the quiet opinions and unspoken truths
  • ๐Ÿ˜‚ Petty Thoughts โ€” irrational grievances, unreasonable opinions, silent judgements
  • ๐Ÿ’ƒ This Weekend Only โ€” confessions specific to this bach, in real time
  • ๐Ÿšจ Hot Mess Express โ€” the round for your most unhinged stories, saved for when the drinks have been flowing

You don’t need to play all of them in one sitting. Five categories is a solid session.

Make It Competitive (Optional)

The game works perfectly as a pure confession circle. But if your group is competitive, adding a scoring element takes the energy up another level.

The basics: After each confession, everyone rates it from 1 to 5 and comes to an agreed score for that answer. Note it down on the scorecards included.

One is mild. Five is unhinged. The person with the highest average across the night wins.

Bonus points for:

  • Main Character Energy โ€” a story that could genuinely carry an episode of a reality TV show
  • Plot Twist โ€” a confession that changes how people see an entire previous story
  • Hot Mess Behaviour โ€” chaos that was fully self-inflicted and completely avoidable

Titles to crown at the end of the night:

  • ๐Ÿ‘‘ Miss Unhinged โ€” highest overall score, no competition
  • ๐Ÿ’€ Hot Mess Express CEO โ€” most points earned in the Hot Mess round specifically
  • ๐ŸŽญ Best Storyteller โ€” voted by the group for the confession told with the most drama and detail
  • ๐Ÿ† Unexpected Icon โ€” the person no one expected to deliver and absolutely delivered

Write the scores on our specially designed scoresheets that accompany the game.

How to Play the Game At your Event

The Canva slide deck will play on any device that can access a web browser, such as an iPad or laptop. You can also connect your device to a TV โ€“ most laptops can connect with an HDMI lead but this process will vary dependent on your device.

There are several ways to download and play your file from Canva as follows. You can also watch the video below for a visual guide. Please note, even though this video shows the process for sharing a Bridal Jeopardy game, the sharing methods are exactly the same:

Option 1 โ€“ Present in Canva

Click โ€œShareโ€ at the top right corner, then select โ€œpresent full screenโ€, then โ€œPresentโ€.

Option 2 โ€“ Create a public view URL

This is a great option if you donโ€™t want to log in to Canva at your event or if you are using another personโ€™s device. Click โ€œShareโ€, then โ€œPublic View Linkโ€, a URL will then be automatically created that you can copy and paste into a browser. Anyone with the link can then view your game (but not edit). Any changes you make to the game will automatically update on the link instantly, so bear this in mind!

Option 3 โ€“ Download as a PDF (A great offline or backup option!)

Click Share at the top right corner as before , then select download. Choose โ€œPDF Standardโ€ from the dropdown list. The PDF can then be viewed on a free PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat โ€“ all the links will work.

This is a good backup option in case there are internet issues at your event.

Ensure you do not select โ€œFlatten PDFโ€ as this will disable the hyperlinks.

A Few Tips Before You Play

Keep it genuinely light. The game works because people feel safe. Make sure no one feels pressured to overshare, and check in with the energy as you go โ€” the best confessions come when people are comfortable, not cornered.

Read the room on categories. If a particular round is making people visibly uncomfortable, move on. There’s no shortage of questions.

The unexpected moments are always the best ones. Every group has a surprise confession โ€” a quiet person who goes completely unhinged, a story no one saw coming, a truth that makes everyone go silent for three seconds before absolutely losing it. You can’t plan for those. Just be present for them when they happen.

And the most important rule of all:

What’s said in this game stays in the group.

Say it at the start. Mean it. It’s the thing that makes people actually confess.

Final Thoughts

There are games that fill time, and then there are games that make a bachelorette weekend. “We Listen and We Don’t Judge” is the second kind. It doesn’t need a big setup, a complicated rulebook, or a Etsy order that arrives three days late. It just needs a group of people who are ready to be honest, a few good categories, and someone willing to go first.

Start mild. Build to chaos. Let the Hot Mess Express run where it wants to go.

By the end of the night, you’ll have stories you’ll still be retelling at the wedding, at the one-year anniversary dinner, and quite possibly at someone’s fortieth birthday party years from now.

That’s what the game is really for.

Played this at your bach and had a moment worth sharing? Tell us about it โ€” and no, we absolutely won’t judge.
