Choosing a Theme & Color Palette
A cohesive theme and color scheme instantly elevate any bachelorette party. Here are some trendy themes and their best color palettes:
- She’s Tying the Knot – White, gold, and blush pink for an elegant, bridal-inspired look.
- She’s The Cherry on top – Vibrant reds, pinks, and bow accents for a retro, chic party.
- Last Toast on The Coast – Coastal grandmother chic with shades of dusty blue, white and metallic silver.
- Bride or Die – Edgy, dark elegance with black, silver, and deep red tones.
Once you’ve chosen a theme, stick to its color scheme to make the decor feel polished and intentional.

DIY Balloon Garlands & Backdrops
Balloon garlands look like a professional decor piece, but they’re super easy to make!
How to Make a Balloon Garland:
Creating a balloon garland is a fun and creative way to enhance any celebration. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you craft your own.
This tutorial from ShelyaTelei is the easiest way I’ve ever seen to DIY a balloon garland, and it doesn’t require a specific balloon arch kit, just regular balloons.
- Gather Your Supplies:
- Balloons: Select a variety of sizes and colors to add depth and interest to your garland.
- Balloon Decorating Strip or Fishing Line: These tools help in assembling the balloons into a garland.
- Electric Balloon Pump: This will significantly speed up the inflation process.
- Command Hooks or Tape: For securing the garland to your desired location.
- Glue Dots or Low-Temperature Glue Gun: To attach smaller balloons or decorative elements.
- Inflate the Balloons:
- Use the electric pump to inflate your balloons to varying sizes. This variation adds a dynamic look to the garland.
- Assemble the Garland:
- Using a Balloon Decorating Strip: Insert the tied end of each balloon into the holes of the strip, alternating colors and sizes as desired.
- Using Fishing Line: Tie pairs of balloons together, then join these pairs to form clusters. Thread the fishing line through the balloon ties, securing each cluster tightly to form the garland.
- Add Decorative Elements:
- Attach smaller balloons, flowers, or greenery using glue dots or a low-temperature glue gun to fill any gaps and enhance the overall appearance.
- Install the Garland:
- Secure the garland to your chosen location using command hooks or tape. Adjust the positioning to achieve your desired look.
For an Instagram-worthy photo backdrop, use:
- Fringe curtains layered for depth.
- Streamers arranged in an ombré effect.
- A neon sign or light-up letters for a glamorous touch.

DIY Marquee Letters
To make professional looking DIY Marquee lettering, this tutorial from ItsJustKristen will guide you step by step through the process:
Materials Needed:
- Base Material: 2 pieces of foam board in your chosen size.
- Lights: Globe string lights or LED bulbs.
- Tools: Utility knife or jigsaw, drill with appropriate drill bits, ruler, pencil, hot glue gun, and sandpaper.
- Paint or Finish: Spray paint or acrylic paint in your desired color., or just leave white.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Design Your Letters:
- Sketch the letters onto the foam board.
- Cut Out the Letters:
- Use a utility knife for foam board to cut out the letters. Ensure smooth edges by sanding any rough areas.
- Create Depth (Optional):
- For a 3D effect, add side panels using additional strips of foam board. Attach these to the edges of the letters using hot glue.
- Make Holes for Lights:
- Mark evenly spaced points where you want the lights to go. Use a sharp pencil to push holes into the foam board slightly smaller than the bulb bases to ensure a snug fit. If they need making bigger, you can adjust using a thicker pen pushed through the hole such as a Sharpie marker.
- Paint or Decorate:
- Apply paint or any desired finish to the letters. Allow them to dry completely before proceeding.
- Insert Lights:
- Push the bulbs through the drilled holes from the back, ensuring they fit securely. Tape or glue the wiring at the back to keep it organized and out of sight.
- Display Your Marquee Letters:
- Place your illuminated letters in your chosen location and plug them in to enjoy the ambiance they’ve created.
